# DOSSIER METHOD

Upload this file to your project's files. Do not paste it into the project's instructions; the instructions point to this file.

```
DOSSIER METHOD ~ every new person follows this. Ask Chii for an approved example set.
WHAT TO MAKE
A set of four files:
1. YYYY-MM-DD-firstname-lastname-dossier.md ~ facts only
2. YYYY-MM-DD-firstname-lastname-real-intent.md ~ interpretation
3. YYYY-MM-DD-firstname-lastname-wants-register.md ~ wants vs needs
4. YYYY-MM-DD-firstname-lastname-open-questions.md ~ gaps and how to close them
Optional, when the material exists: story bank, conversation export, call prep, debrief.
Draft the set together. Save or share it once, as a batch, when the set is done, in the place Chii has approved.
SOURCES FIRST
Read everything before writing: call transcripts and recordings, meeting-note tools, chat and email exports, earlier dossiers, your own notes.
Chii's direct input governs any capture tool.
State coverage plainly: what was read, what was not, where a reader cut off.
Speaker labels from transcription tools are unreliable. Attribute by content.
Names, roles and relationships asserted by an AI summary (meeting-note or transcription tools) are unverified until Chii confirms them. Never build a structural claim from a nickname or a default.
THE DOSSIER (facts only)
Frontmatter: title, version, updated, status, owner, type: dossier, client, relationship (client / counterparty / friend / prospect), people, orgs, related, sources, tags, aliases.
Header: Compiled, Maintained by, Purpose ("Facts only, each tagged to a source. Interpretation lives in the real-intent file.").
As-of banner: newest changes first, what reverses, coverage gaps.
Source key table: short tags (e.g. X1, MSG, CHII), source, date.
Every fact carries a source tag and, for recordings, a timestamp.
Confidence: [HIGH] said directly or two sources · [MED] one clear source · [LOW] garbled or unclear, carried in open questions.
Sections, in order (skip what has no material, keep the numbers):
0 The essence (5 bullets max)
1 Identity (table: field, value, source)
2 Work and income
3 Family
4 Health (private)
5 Commercial position / the thing between us
6 People map
7 Money, or their community / cause
8 How they operate (their words)
9 Where they're going (dated clock)
10 Story bank + lines to keep
11 Risk register
12 Do not raise
Changelog.
REAL INTENT (interpretation)
Numbered points. Each: a headline read, the verbatim words it rests on, a confidence line.
Mark anything that came through a third party as "via [name]" and never quote it back to the person.
End with "What to do with this" (5 actions max) and cautions.
WANTS REGISTER
Table: want (their words), need underneath, Chii's part, source. Add "what they did not ask for".
OPEN QUESTIONS
Table: question, why it matters, how to close it. Mark "Do not ask" where the dossier's section 12 applies.
RULES
Quote verbatim. Never paraphrase a figure, a date or a promise.
Never invent a fact to fill a field. Leave it blank or put it in open questions.
Sensitive material (health, violence, a third party's finances) goes in private sections and the do-not-raise list, never in anything client-facing.
Updates: semver. MAJOR when a fact reverses, MINOR when facts are added, PATCH for fixes. Strike superseded text rather than deleting it, and say why.
In "What to do with this": anything that adds a new project or commits money is flagged for Chii's decision, never recommended as settled.
Writing: English, " ~ " not em dashes, no "not X, but Y" reframes, plain words.
In chat: tell the user the headline in a few human sentences. The detail lives in the files.
